Year 7Year 7s looked at Michael Craig-Martin’s work for Woolwich Arsenal station to create a drawing of our daily objects in a different scale. Well done for the fantastic work! Year 8Year 8s looked at Yellena James to get inspiration for their Natural Form project. What beautiful work they did! Year 9Year 9 developed their continuous line drawings with mixed media. Very interesting to see different styles of portraits.
In January 2021 the start of our new term became the re-start of Online Learning. BUT, Ricards students' endless creativity has not stopped and continues to develop! We are very proud to share the first week's outcome from our KS 3 students.Year 7Year 7 students are working on Personal Journey project. As a part of this project, we looked at a fabric artist Valerie S. Goodwin and how she uses map for her work. Year 8Year 8 students have been exploring artists who are inspired by Natural Forms. In this week, they learnt about Klari Reis and created a visual study inspired by her petri dish artwork. Year 9Year 9 students have been learning portrait. In this week, students learnt different styles of portrait and made a series of beautiful drawings.
For the last two weeks of the Summer term, we ran Art workshops for KS3 students at the school. In the first week, students made a set of fantastic bunting to welcome new students in September. They used oil pastel mono printing with William Morris' patterns to decorate each letter. For the second week, they looked at Henri Matisse's Still Life with Sleeper as inspiration and created exciting paper cut art. Such a joy to see their fantastic outcome and what a great way to finish this year! Well done All!! Mythological Creature project - Astrological mythFollowing the exciting news about SpaceX’s Dragon capsule, Year 7 students researched a mythological character related to the sky, the stars or the planets from any culture and created a visually exciting research page.
